Effective 8 December 2025, the GeoJSON files available on the CSDI Portal will utilise the geographic coordinate reference system WGS84 (Longitude, Latitude) with units of decimal degrees
Effective 8 December 2025, the GeoJSON files available on the CSDI Portal will utilise the geographic coordinate reference system WGS84 (Longitude, Latitude) with units of decimal degrees. This standard will be applied to all spatial datasets to ensure compliance with the GeoJSON specification (RFC7946).

Effective on 19 September 2025, the Data Query Service (DQS) will no longer be accessible from the Dataset API Explorer
Effective on 19 September 2025, the Data Query Service (DQS) will no longer be accessible from the Dataset API Explorer. Although the DQS service will remain available, we kindly recommend you transition to the OGC Web Feature Service (OGC WFS) or the OGC Web Map Service (OGC WMS) for continued use of our data service. Please note that the DQS service will be fully retired in the future. For further information, please feel free to contact us at csdi-portal@landsd.gov.hk. We are ready to support you throughout this transition.

New addition for 3D Visualisation Map, 3D Indoor Network and 3D Indoor Map datasets on 27 March 2025
3D Visualisation Map (Individualised models) and 3D Visualisation Map (Tile-based models) datasets now cover the entire territory of Hong Kong. In addition, we have updated the 3D Indoor Map dataset to include more records and released a new 3D Indoor Network dataset with three Map APIs added/updated (namely 3D Indoor Building Map API, 3D Indoor MTR Station Map API and 3D Pedestrian Route Search API). Please refer to the related dataset detail pages and Map APIs webpage for details.
