Abstract: Probation service is a community-based programme whereby, in accordance with the Probation of Offenders Ordinance (Cap 298), an offender aged of or above 10 may be placed under the statutory supervision of a probation officer (PO) for a period of one to three years. PO provides statutory supervision and counselling service with utilisation of community resources to help probationers to reform, reintegrate into the society and become law-abiding citizens. Community Service Orders (CSO) is a community-based sentencing option pursuant to the Community Service Orders Ordinance, Cap 378. A court may make an order requiring a person of or over 14 years of age and convicted of an offence(s) punishable with imprisonment to perform unpaid work for a number of hours not exceeding 240 hours within a period of 12 months under the supervision of a probation officer (PO) who shall also provide counselling and guidance to the offender.

摘要: 感化服務是一項社區層面的康復服務。根據《罪犯感化條例》（第298章），法庭可判處年滿10歲或以上的違法者為期1至3年的感化令，接受感化主任的監管。感化主任透過監管及輔導，並運用社區資源，協助受感化者改過自新及重新投入社會，成為奉公守法的公民。 社會服務令計劃是一項根據香港法例第378章《社會服務令條例》的社區層面的判刑。法庭可向14歲或以上干犯可判監禁罪行人士判處社會服務令。接受社會服務令的人士在感化主任督導下須於12個月內完成不超過240小時的無薪社會服務工作，以補償他們以往對社會造成的損害，並透過感化主任的輔導，改過自新。
